IGP Melocotón de Cieza presents its 2023 campaign

The ‘IGP Melocotón de Cieza Experience’ will be a unique sensory experience in which the 20 Instagram giveaway winners will participate.

Manuel Ruiz, President of the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Melocotón de Cieza, presented this morning the new campaign for production, marketing, and promotion of this peach. The presentation took place in the Cardenal Belluga Square in Murcia. It was attended by Mr. Antonio Luengo, the Agriculture Counselor of the Region of Murcia, and Mr. Tomás Rubio, the Mayor of Cieza, among other government and institutional representatives.

The president of the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) has stated that it is a great pride to be able to present this new campaign, now with the final approval of the PGI at the international level. That is why this year they have launched a special campaign for both promotion and marketing of this product. Producers have unveiled a new website, igpmelocotondecieza.org, and the new advertising campaign, ‘Land, Tradition, and Flavor,’ has already begun on the official social media channels of the PGI.

Manuel has stated, ‘This quality seal, which allows us to highlight the prestige of our peach, is both a quality guarantee for consumers and a significant recognition for all producers.’ Last week, they began harvesting the peaches, and Romea was the first variety to be ready. It will differ from the harvest of Baby Gold 6 by about twenty days.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the well-known Instagram account @murciaexplorer, the producers launched a giveaway last Sunday in which the 10 winners will receive two passes for the ‘IGP Melocotón de Cieza Experience.’ In this activity, the winners will explore two of the main natural landscapes of the city of Cieza and have the opportunity to enjoy a peach tasting right from the tree on one of the producer’s farms. The advertising campaign also includes various media insertions, collaborations with influencers, and the presence of the PGI at Fruit Attraction 2023.

In order for the national territory to be the first to enjoy this special peach, this year, the entire production will be allocated to this market. Consumers can already find these peaches at retail outlets across the country identified with the quality seal of IGP Melocotón de Cieza.
