1st Cieza Peach PGI Trophy

The municipal football pitch of Cieza “La Arboleja” has been reopened after its rehabilitation in the I Trofeo IGP Melocotón de Cieza.

The municipal football field of “La Arboleja” reopened its doors to football fans in an event that recalled what happened four decades ago, when with the same contenders, C.D. Cieza and Real Murcia, the stadium was inaugurated, which today looks its best, thanks to the first phase of the remodeling that aims to make it a reference of the sports facilities in the region. The event has been used as an opportunity to pay tribute to our farmers with the celebration of the I Edition of the IGP Cieza Peach.

Before the start of the match, all the base teams made their presence felt on the remodelled pitch, which now has a splendid artificial turf, and one by one the almost 300 boys, girls and youngsters took to the field to form the word Cieza in the centre of the pitch.

Afterwards, the Mayor of Cieza, Mr. Pascual Lucas Díaz, accompanied by the Councillor for Sports, Carlos Semitiel, addressed the fans present, thanking them for their presence and also for the work that has always been done by grassroots football in our town, and which will now have better facilities to continue to bear fruit.
